Greenhouse Products

Winter does not need to compromise healthy eating. When you visit us in the winter you can still expect to fill your grocery basket with a variety of fresh produce. Yes, despite the snow and chilly temperatures, tasty, nutritious, LOCAL, greens are still growing! Our selection usually includes spinach, lettuces, kales (red, green or dino), chard, collards, bok choy, dandelion, beet greens, green onions, radishes, micro-greens, cilantro, parsley, mint, and a variety of spicy greens sold as a mix or individually: arugula, red mustard, tatsoi, mizuna, red russian kale and cress. Our `signature’ salad item is our “Mixed Salad Greens.” This is a washed and ready-to-eat mix of baby lettuces, spinach and spicy greens, convenient for a busy work week!

We grow tomatoes and cucumbers in our greenhouse from early Spring through to early Winter – allowing us to extend the season on these all-time favourites. By late May we often have cucumbers and the first tomatoes available.

We have both unheated and heated greenhouses. The unheated greenhouses extend the harvest season on both Spring and Fall ends. The wood heated greenhouse keeps plants going through the coldest temperatures of winter. By February with its longer days and often times brilliantly sunny days, we think of the greenhouses as our winter escape to a warm, sunny land where we can ground ourselves being barefoot in the sweet earth.

Managing our greenhouse is a family affair. From little up our children have played an active role in every stage from seeding to harvest.
